I love, love, love Valentine’s Day. I love the pink. I love the stuffed animals. I love the decor. I love telling people how much I love them. I also love the premise of being in love. Have I been in love? No. Do I like to idealize my favorite book characters? Yes!! In honor of my favorite holiday and love itself, here are some of my favorite YA romance reads.

Today, Tonight, Tomorrow by Rachel Solomon

I read this book in 10 hours. Unfortunately, I was supposed to be studying at the time; but how could I leave Rowan and Neil? Today, Tonight, Tomorrow chronicles the last few days of Rowan Roth’s senior year as well as the senior scavenger hunt. Rowan Roth never loses and to win the scavenger hunt, she must team up with her mortal enemy, Neil McNair.

I don’t typically love enemies to lovers, but this book made me swoon. I particularly liked Rowan’s perspective on being an overachiever and the Seattle setting. This is the perfect quick read for Valentines’!

Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally

I’m a sucker for multi-storyline books, and Kenneally does not fail with Four Day of You and Me. Four Day of You and Me follows Lulu and Alex on the same day each year of high school. It takes them from freshmen visiting the science museum to seniors sight-seeing in London.

The chemistry between Lulu and Alex was so well written. I was truly rooting for them, even when it felt wrong. I would recommend this to my nostalgic readers, as it pulled my heartstrings to see the characters go from freshmen to seniors.

Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed

Who doesn’t love Georgia, teenage activism, and Target? Because that is the best way to describe Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed. Yes No Maybe So follows Maya and Jamie learning the ropes of local activism through their local state senate election. As they work together to campaign, they grow into best friends, and then maybe something more?

Albertalli does a really good job at writing teenagers, and Yes No Maybe So is no exception. Maya and Jamie are so realistic, and their relationship is so relatable. I recommend Yes No Maybe So to all the friends to lovers fans.

Top Ten by Katie Cotugno

Another multiple storyline novel! Top Ten is one of my favorite friends to lovers books, and honestly, it just warms my heart. Top Ten follows best friends Ryan McCullough and Gabby Hart through their entire high school career. The book is formed upon Ryan and Gabby’s “top ten” moments of high school. It flashes back and forth between all four years of high school, but Cotugno does a great job of keeping the storylines clear.

Overall, I’m a sucker for a good friend to lovers trope, and Top Ten is no exclusion. I would recommend this to fans of Four Days of You and Me and vice versa.

Wishing you all love and good reading this Valentine’s Day! <3
