Unfortunately, Gossip Girl is leaving Netflix, but these books will supplement your Blair and Serena time with other rich people’s problems. These stories have the same levels of drama, prestige, and wealth as the Upper East Siders and are sure to impress any Gossip Girl fan.

American Royals by Katherine McGee

The characters of this book have a wardrobe even Blair Waldorf would approve of, and the parties are bigger and better the Lily Rhodes could dream of.

It’s 1783 and instead of George Washington becoming the president of America, he is offered the position as king. Fast forward hundreds of years and the Washingtons are still ruling over America. American Royals is written as a multinarrative told by the women if and around the Washington family. Beatrice heir of the throne, Samantha the princess, Nina the princess’ best friend, and Daphne, prince Jefferson’s ex-girlfriend. I devoured this book, and am pleased to say it has a sequel coming in October 2020!!

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

The Liar’s schemes are comparable to Blair and Chuck, and the family drama in this story is even crazier than the Van Der Woodsens.

Finishing this book withdrawals a “wow” from every reader. It is a crazy whirlwind of friendship, family drama, and romance but it is an enjoyable whirlwind. Also, it takes place on a family’s private island which makes it all the more interesting. I loved this book, and it has one of the best twist endings I’ve read. The way these teenagers live all summer is what we all dream for, and pretty much looks like my Pinterest boards.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

Take Gossip Girl but instead of the Upper East Side place it in Singapore and you have Crazy Rich Asians.

I don’t think this book actually applies as YA, but I’m a teenage reader and I enjoyed it and think other teenagers would as well. Kevin Kwan paints the life of Singapore’s 1% beautifully and interracially. I can’t imagine how difficult it was to write this book simply because every character has a story and plays a part in the trilogy. Reading this book was so addictive because the way the characters live is so attractive and dramatic, and it was super well written. Also, the movie adaption is just as beautiful as the book and is totally worth checking out!

People Like Us by Dana Mele

While the gang’s days at Constance Billard School for Girls are long gone, People Like Us’ school, Bates, has the same levels of prestige and drama. Plus it’s a boarding school!

After discovering a dead body in the lake, Kay is blackmailed into a secret-spilling scavenger hunt which leads to the expose of her inner circle mean girls clique. Oh and she’s being framed for murder. This novel was so enthralling, the main plot is great, but what really makes it stand apart from other YA murder/suspense novels are the characters. They are all very expansive and dimensional. People Like Us is totally binge-worthy and will fill in your GG scheme sized hole.

Enjoy these juicy titles, X.O.X.O Gossip Girl❤
